Material declaration
A written statement of what a product is made of, issued for a specific construction.
Material declaration
A material declaration is the document a brand owner needs when a regulator or a retail customer asks whether a product contains plastic. It has to name the fibre blend, the presence or absence of a binder, and the packing materials, because all three can be in scope.
The useful version is specific: issued per SKU, describing the construction actually supplied, and dated. A generic letter that says "our products are eco-friendly" answers nothing and creates a liability rather than removing one.
