Applications
Twelve settings, and the one decision in each that determines whether the towel works. Each page links to the products, terms and guides that carry the detail.
- AP-01 Hotels A hotel programme is decided by the housekeeping round, not by the towel catalogue.
- AP-02 Ryokan and onsen In a bath-led property the towel is used soaked, wrung and used again before it is ever dry.
- AP-03 Hair salons A salon buys towels by the carton and spends them by the client, so the number that matters is cost per service.
- AP-04 Barbershops The barber towel is small, folded twice, and often applied warm — which is a different test from a salon towel.
- AP-05 Spas and wellness Spa towels stay on skin longer than salon towels and meet oil, so the specification has to answer a different question.
- AP-06 Nail and lash studios A nail or lash studio uses a small towel at close range, often under a curing lamp, where loose fibre is immediately visible.
- AP-07 Clinics and aesthetics A clinic buys the same towel as a salon and asks a different set of questions about it.
- AP-08 Gyms and studios A gym does not evaluate a towel by hand feel. It evaluates by how many it gets through in a month and whether it survives the floor.
- AP-09 Pet grooming A grooming towel is used one-handed, on a moving animal, and has to absorb more per square centimetre than a human towel does.
- AP-10 Travel and amenity kits A travel towel is judged twice: once as a compact object in a kit, and once as a towel in a hotel bathroom far from home.
- AP-11 Care homes In a care setting the towel is part of a routine performed by staff under time pressure, and the specification follows from that.
- AP-12 Distributors and wholesalers A distributor does not use the towel. It has to sell it to someone who will, which changes what "good" means.
Send us the specification you are working to.
A target weight, a pack format, a market and an annual volume is enough to start. A sample of what you use today is better.
