Hair salons
A salon buys towels by the carton and spends them by the client, so the number that matters is cost per service.
Salon economics are unusual: the towel is a consumable that sits directly against a client for ten to forty minutes, and the operator knows exactly how many clients pass through in a month. That makes the towel one of the few line items that can be costed per service rather than per purchase order.
Practically, this means the decision is usually between two or three formats that differ in size and basis weight, and the honest comparison requires the finished-piece count and the pack count together. A cheaper carton with fewer usable pieces is not cheaper.
Common mistakes
- Comparing carton price without normalising piece count
- Ignoring lint on dark or bleached hair until the first complaint

Send us the specification you are working to.
A target weight, a pack format, a market and an annual volume is enough to start. A sample of what you use today is better.
